By DON BRYCE Saturday 28 September will see the annual Wizards on Wheels Car Show taking place at Port Rex Technical High School in East London. This event was founded in 2005, and has grown year by year. The show is for all motoring enthusiasts and new car and motorcycle dealers who would like to get together and display their vehicles. The WOW show attracts exhibitors from as far as Port Elizabeth, Queenstown as well as other centres. The Mrwetyana family has appealed to the public not to initiate or contribute to unauthorised projects misusing Uyinene’s name and the family’s grief to raise funds, make money, garner attention, or in any way ‘cash in’ on her tragedy. The Ntsika Secondary School Poetry Competition had two categories: junior (Gr. 8 – 9) and senior (Gr. 10 – 12). Each entrant could only submit a single poem for consideration and it was expected to reflect the theme of their category. For juniors, the theme was community and for seniors, diversity. The period for the renewal of liquor licenses in the Eastern Cape is drawing closer and Eastern Cape Liquor Board (ECLB) has urged liquor traders to adhere to timeframes. The legislation requires that liquor traders renew their liquor licenses annually. The renewal period is 1 October to 31 December each year. Those who miss this deadline can still renew their licenses in January and February the following year; however, those who renew in January are charged a 50% late registration fee and those who register in February are charged double. The event is hosted by the Department of Music and Musicology at Rhodes University. By MOGAU MATLOGA The co-owners of Grahamstown Pharmacy have decided that it’s time to sell their nearly 34-year-old store and retire.
