Kingswood laid claim to the title “Champions of Grahamstown” after they beat Graeme 19–13 in a fiery local derby encounter on 30 July.

Medals galore for Kingswood swimmers

A team of swimmers represented Kingswood College, as part of the Aquabear Swimming Club, at the Freda Barnard Gala held in Oudtshoorn over the weekend.

Tamlyn Price won five golds and four silvers. Her golds were for the 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle, freestyle relay girls U15, individual medley relay girls U15.

Kingswood riders to compete at nationals

Four Kingswood Junior School riders feel “nervous but excited” about representing the Eastern Cape (EC) at the biggest equestrian schools event in the country next month. 

K-Day victory for DSG hockey

Superior cheering from the Diocesan School for Girls (DSG) supporters- compared to a subdued Kingswood College (KC)- was an excellent soundtrack to a classy display from DSG’s first hockey team, trumping KC 3-0 on Saturday.

Kingswood College have one more dress rehearsal for K-Day when they play against Graeme College at Somerset Field on Saturday afternoon.

Y4Y radio experience

After halfterm the grade 9R class was given an interesting project by Mrs Knoetze and Mr Rumbold: to create a news bulletin, get people’s opinions and create a top ten music list to be aired on radio on a program called Y4Y which is aired on radio Grahamstown (102.1 fm).
 

Neil Aggett celebrated at Kingswood 40-year reunion

Kingswood College alumni celebrated their 20, 30 and 40-year reunions this past weekend at the school's  annual Founder’s Day.

The celebrations this year were especially solemn as Neil Aggett, an apartheid activist and one of the first white men to die in detention, graduated in 1970.

Mawas and Kingswood clash

The Mary Waters 1sts and U15 rugby sides will face Kingswood College at the City Lords rugby field today. The U15 match will start at 4pm, followed by the 1sts at 5pm.

The Mawas 1sts will be hoping to keep on a winning streak, after already having a few wins in the last week. On Saturday Mawas faced Nathaniel Nyaluza at the Albany Sports Club, with Mawas 1sts winning 17-14.
