After TEM Mrhwetyana Secondary School's great drop in its 2009 overall results, it came to a realisation that it might have taken things lightly, as the school dropped from a remarkable 77 % in 2008 to a declining 46 % matric pass rate.

In 2010,  Nombulelo Secondary School has a fewer number of matriculants compared to previous years.  The school now comprises of 128 matric students divided into three classes, declining from the 180 – 200 students from 2009.
