My Story

Makana's high unemployment rates leave our community in despair. Community members are hungry, dirt-poor and commit crimes. This campaign, called 'Makana Employed' takes a closer look at the unemployment issue and its many faces. We let the community speak up, call for action and think about solutions. This collection of stories has been written in March and April 2010 by citizen journalists who completed a six-week training course in the Grocott's Mail Citizen Journalism Newsroom.
