Hoërskool PJ Olivier held a farewell assembly for Piet Snyders who is retiring from the school, having been Principal for 15 years. Among the speakers at the assembly were teachers, pupils (including former pupils) and Amos Fetcha (head of the Education Department, Grahamstown District).

1995 RWC squad honoured for “greatest day” in SA rugby history

South African Rugby Union president Oregan Hoskins on Wednesday congratulated and thanked the Springbok squad involved in the 1995 Rugby World Cup as they celebrated the 20th anniversary of their epic World Cup final win in Johannesburg.

EP Kings-Sharks friendly called off

THE Eastern Province Kings and the Sharks have reached a mutual agreement to call off their friendly rugby match which was scheduled to have been played at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on 11 July.

Kings U19 and U21 teams to play friendlies

 

The EP Kings U19 and U21 squads will continue their preparations for the forthcoming Currie Cup season when they take on their South Western District counterparts in Plettenberg Bay on Wednesday, 24 June.

The matches will take place at 2pm and 3.30pm at Piesang Valley in Plett.

Grand Challenge round up

Grahamstown Brumbies beat African Bombers 36-28 in the Eastern Province Grand Challenge on Saturday, 20 June. Brumbies recorded their third consecutive win when they beat African Bombers in Port Elizabeth. Brumbies led 21-7 at the break.
