People of Khoisan descent must unite. The ANC and DA are using you to further the interests of their people. These parties don't care for you. They only want your votes. Punish them in 2014.

Joza strongly depicts the varying income brackets of the location. There are mostly brick and RDP houses, many of which are neglected. The main road (Ncame Street) is tarred, as are other important streets in the area. As you move deeper into the extensions you will find less brick houses and more informal settlements. In these areas the roads are not tarred and badly maintained. The residents that live in the latter areas lack the basic facilities, i.e. formal housing, water and electricity.

There are also many schools which are an important aspect of the community to consider as the youth are often blamed for crime. We focused on T.E.M. Mrwetyana School. Egazini Outreach Project was identified for its youth programmes which rehabilitate young offenders, and therefore works closely together with the Department of Social Development.

The Department starkly contrasts the area in which it is located because of its immaculate condition. It is also surrounded by barren fields which are a feature throughout Joza. The barren fields and unlit roads are often cited as the places where crimes take place. Taverns, which are rife in the area, also seem to aggravate crime, according to the residents. The many spaza shops peppered around the location cater to the needs of the locals, some of which are owned by foreigners. These shops often fall victim to crime.

There is a police station which is responsible for Joza and the surrounding areas and is overseen by Cpt. Mntumi. There are a number of CPF members who live in the area and liaise between the police and the community. Churches are predominant and well attended on Sundays. Adults and children are often seen roaming the streets during the day because they are either unemployed or have nothing to do after school.
