People of Khoisan descent must unite. The ANC and DA are using you to further the interests of their people. These parties don't care for you. They only want your votes. Punish them in 2014.

We held our neighbourhood meeting on the 15th October at the Egazini Outreach Project in Extension 6. Our audience was made up of thirty people from around the community with two counsellors from Fort England Hospital. Young children made up the majority of the group, but there were enough adults to generate and maintain critical discussion.
This project opened up the space for discussion about issues that are treated as taboo such as rape as illustrated in the documentary. The project left residents with the tools that they needed to do something about crime in their area, for example information cards with helpful contacts. In addition to the newsmagazines, information cards, bumper stickers and whistles that we produced, we also put up posters throughout the community, encouraging residents to speak out.
The audience at the meeting was entertained by ‘The Squattas’, a young dance group run under the guidance of the iKhaya Theatre Group at the Egazini Outreach Project. Refreshments were served during the interim between the screening of our documentary and sound slides and the group discussion. The following day, we held a crime awareness event at Egazini where we handed out fun-sheets to the children with games and vital information about avoiding crime.
It was to the project’s advantage that although the adult group was in the minority we had older women, middle aged residents and a few young people with both genders fairly represented. At the end of the meeting many of our guests expressed their thanks for the work we produced.
The Squattas perform a dance for our audience at the neighbourhood meeting.
The children watch, enthralled as the documentary and sound slides are screened.
