People of Khoisan descent must unite. The ANC and DA are using you to further the interests of their people. These parties don't care for you. They only want your votes. Punish them in 2014.

To all those people who object so strongly about the new KFC sign, I wonder how many of them have spent any sleepless nights worrying about the less privileged citizens of our beautiful town? Well it is a well known fact that Rob Beer has built several homes or shelters (for a better word) for these homeless and desperate people in our town, yet I'm sure the public are too busy with negative grievances over petty things such as the KFC sign which is totally accepted worldwide, to even care or know about these people. Rob Beer never fails to donate to various schools in our town: blind, cancer, NSRI and Brookshaw to name a few and many other organisations too numerous to mention. How many of you so-called concerned citizens dig into your pockets? Yes, maybe you are saying he can afford it but the fact remains, he cares enough to do something about it. What do you do? Now get over the KFC sign and look at all the opportunities and the financial growth of Grahamstown since Rob Beer has taken the interest he has in our town. A Rob Beer supporter |

I am not sure that I understand the mentality of a handful of Grahamstonians who find it necessary to criticize personally a man who has done so much for our little town in order to stop it becoming third–world.
I am a person of average means and yet Mr. Beer never fails to smile warmly, greet me earnestly and have a little joke with me.
Yes he may not go advertising in the newspapers how much he does behind the scenes to help those who are less fortunate than him. But if , instead of criticizing and quibbling over the size of a sign (one that KFC determines the size of, not Mr. Beer - the landlord, to attract business and job opportunities to our town) you would take the opportunity to introduce yourself and see how best you could support the many charities that Mr. Beer so readily supports.
If when we have our new improved, extended Woolworths arrives, you stop and say thank-you , you might find out yourself what many people know to be true.
Too many people are to quick to jump to conclusions or criticize before taking the time to get to know the man behind the big sign.
