Saving the Pipefish

The Estuarine Pipefish is indigenous to the Kariega, Bushman’s and
Kleinermonde estuaries of the Eastern Cape. Marine scientists have noted the recent demise of the species from these habitats. We examine what has changed in the estuaries which the meeting ground between freshwater and seawater. Without adequate freshwater flowing into the estuaries the estuarine pipefish cannot survive.
