Grahamstown Voices is an audio project undertaken by five Rhodes University journalism students in their final term in 2010. The aim was to reflect the diversity of the people of the city and, using just their voices, create tiny glimpses into their lives. |

From 22 October to 12 November 2010 Grocott’s Mail featured a range of stories from each of Makana Municipality’s 12 wards (note: in January 2011 two additional wards were introduced) – some urban and familiar to most Grahamstonians, some rural and relatively unexplored. |

In 2010, Rhodes University television journalism students worked together with participants in the Grocott's Mail Citizen Journalism course to assist the participants in producing a series of news videos filmed mostly on their cellphones. This project formed part of the Knight Foundation-funded Iindaba Ziyafika (The News is Coming) project. |
