The competition heated up as various teams took to the field, including the Brumbies, Wanderers, Easterns and Swallows. Ndlamble was proudly represented by Kowie United and Klipfontein. Teams from Makhanda (Grahamstown), Seven Fountains, Alicedale, Riebeck East and Peddie took each other on. The Kingswood College girls’ first team water polo travelled to Port Elizabeth for the Alexander Road water polo festival over the weekend of 9-10 February. It was a busy two days with the team playing 11 matches in total. The strength of the opposition varied, but it was an ideal opportunity to work on patterns of play and combinations for St Peter’s tournament later in February in Johannesburg. Makana LFA organised a pre-season tournament over the weekend of 9-10 February, to allow the teams to test their squads and to give players a chance to stake their claim in the starting line ups. All the local teams took part except for the SAB league teams.
