Neither the XI Attackers nor Sakhulutsha managed to pull off the victory, resulting in both teams dropping to the Makana LFA competition for next season. Two men facing charges in connection with the drug-linked alleged kidnapping of Rhodes University students appeared in the Grahamstown Magistrate’s Court briefly this morning. The men, who are charged with robbery with aggravating circumstances, appeared for a bail hearing. Both abandoned their bail applications and remain in custody until their next appearance, postponed to 22 May for further investigation. Police last week revealed alarming details of the modus operandi of the drug-related alleged kidnappings. “Since February 2018 three incidents have been reported to SAPS Grahamstown. These include all seven in Makana Municipality. Vox Telecom is the national service provider for public libraries and withdrew its services after the 22 libraries amassed a debt of over R1 million on their Vox accounts, according to Janie Maritz, accounts spokesperson of Vox Telecom, Eastern Cape.
